The Role
Joint Capabilities Group Headquarters (JCG HQ) is seeking a highly motivated Honours and Awards Coordinator to work in a small and dynamic team environment.
The Honours and Awards Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating a range of Honours and Awards activities. They will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on Honours and Awards and liaising with a range of stakeholders to ensure effective coordination.
The Honours and Awards Coordinator will be the main contact for Honours and Awards across the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) and coordinate a number of awards for JCG including Gold Commendations, Group Commendations, Australia Day Achievement Awards and Order of Australia Nominations. They will also assist the Board Secretariat with coordination of the Joint Staff Conspicuous Service Decorations Board, which considers Conspicuous Service Decorations for all Joint Staff across Defence.
About our Team
Joint Capabilities Group Headquarters (JCGHQ) provides high level support to the Chief of Joint Capabilities (CJC), by directing and coordinating Group operations across a range of functions. JCGHQ works closely with the Commands and Divisions within JCG and also the other Groups within Defence to contribute to JCG and Defence wide outcomes.
The Honours and Awards Coordinator will work as an integral part of the Workforce and Culture team within JCGHQ. This position will liaise with the Chief Warrant Officer, Deputy Chief of Staff, the Board Secretariat, the Directorate of Honours and Awards and contacts within the Commands and Divisions to ensure effective coordination of Honours and Awards across JCG and also broader Defence for certain awards.
The JCGHQ team comprises of the Office of the Chief of Joint Capabilities, the Office of the Deputy Chief of Joint Capabilities, Ministerial team, Workforce and Culture team, Media and Communications and Legal.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is someone who has demonstrated experience in Coordination and Administration. Prior experience with Honours and Awards is not necessary.
You must be able to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice and assistance on Honours and Awards matters in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.
Our ideal candidate must be highly organised, have the ability to manage competing priorities while remaining flexible to evolving requirements. You will need to display strong personal drive and integrity, with the ability to work independently.
This role will require strong liaison skills to work effectively across JCG’s Commands and Division and other Groups across Defence.
